Chris Moloso: A Veteran Racer’s Comeback
It’s great to see Coos Bay Speedway regular Chris Moloso of North Bend, OR, making his return for the third time to Olga’s California Dream 100 weekend in 2026. His participation is highly anticipated by fans and fellow racers alike, reflecting the respect he has earned throughout his career.
Overcoming Medical Challenges
Most of all, it will be inspiring to witness Chris back at the racetrack. At 55 years old, with 35 years of racing experience, he has overcome significant medical challenges. His determination and resilience have brought him back to Madera Speedway, where he will race in his new #47 Ford Mustang on August 14th and 15th. This comeback is a testament to his passion for the sport and his fighting spirit.
Racing Philosophy and Ambitions
Chris shared, “I don’t race for Championship. I like to show up and race for the win.” When asked about his goals, he quickly responded, “to win Olga’s California Dream 100.” From his words and attitude, it’s clear that he is focused and driven, making him a strong contender for the event.
Track Experience and Recent Success
Coming from a dirt racing background, Chris is equally comfortable on pavement. In 2024, he achieved an impressive milestone by winning 11 feature events at Salem Speedway and Coos Bay Speedway. This accomplishment highlights his versatility and skill across different racing surfaces.
Support Team and Future Plans
Chris’s wife, Penny, plays a significant role in his racing pursuits, along with his dedicated crew. He consistently acknowledges their contributions and makes it a point to thank them whenever possible. While he continues to work on his stamina, Chris is planning a limited race schedule for 2026.
