THE INGURAUL PREVIEW TO THE DREAM 35 WAS A HUGE SECESSS

It’s always fun to visit Madera Speedway and to make the trip down from our home office in awesome Melba, ID was fun. I went solo on this trip because the Dream team were all working or racing, but it gave me time to get my thoughts in line and to chat with Olga on Dream 100 prep. Ya she still gets her thoughts on thing through to me.
Let me start this race report with a short statement on where four-cylinder motorsports are as we speak. This is only my opinion, but it does come from 40 plus years’ involvement. We have lots of hard-earned money in these great little cars as we set today were in danger of losing our investment.
We must come together and prove again we are the real deal we cannot prove anything with 8 car shows.
So, let’s not mess around, let’s get every car we can to the 7th ANNUAL OLGA’S CALIFORNIA DREAM 100 AND REACH THAT MAGIC NUMBER OF 50 CARS.
MADERA SPEEDWAY, MADERA, CA.
It was an awesome day in the Central San Joaquin Vally the temperature was in the mid to high 80’s the track looked great and some of the best Pro Mini Stocks in the west were on hand to battle for a winner’s share of $500.00.
Eight cars filled the pits, and I won’t say I was not let down by the turnout but let’s look at the teams who were there.
The #13 car of Stephanie Zeibel, this lady won a Dream Dule last year and became one of the weekends first ladies in the Dream 100. She is also one of All American Speedway best.
Jeff Durant in the 75 car is the defending West Coast Sports Compact Champ, getting in his warmup for Dream 100 in.
We had a couple of new to the Dream and Madera Speedway as 77kt Thomas Suarez, 21w Joe Reithmuth and Stockton 99 Speedway Hot Shoe #98 Steve Ford. All three of these guys had great days.
The last three entries comprised the #77rt of Rick Thompson who could not catch a break as crazy engine problem fought him and his never give up crew and had him in line for the 35-lap feature.
The #33 the Madera driver Andrew Parr in his cross between a Honda/Toyota was using this event for what it was designed for to practice. An accomplished off-road racer has found the sweet spot and told me I’m almost ready for Olga’s race”.
Josh Cross is a past Stockton 99 Speedway Champion and the runner up in Olga’s Dream 100 last year. He is also one of two drivers to have attended all 6 of Olga’s Dream 100.
So yes, there were only eight cars, but you could not find a better field of eight drivers at any track anywhere. I won’t go into a lap-by-lap recount of the 35-lap event, but I will say this,
The event went GREEN 35 LAPS, Rick Thopmson beat Stephanie Zibell off the front row and at lap 4 Adrew Parr took the lead and looked like has a meeting booked in the winner’s circle.
Josh Cross did an amazing job of negotiating traffic as battles with equal speed cars were going on all over the track and the thing that stood clear was his patience, the thing that could win him this year’s dream 100.
Josh would use the cross-over move and make an inside past for the lead. This move often sees the two cars make contact and end up with tire marks at the least but not Cross nor Parr made contact. Very exciting and impressive.
Cross would win the JERRY PITTS RACING FAST TIME AWARD of $50.00 with a quick lap of 16.728 while Parr would take the lone heat race win ahead of Joe Reithmuth and Cross
I cannot thank each team enough that took the timer and made the effort to attend but now I need to ask all of you to help promote the Dream weekend. When speaking with Thomas Suarez to see his excitement and smile over his fourth-place finish I can only say Danny Myrick get this young man a ride for the Dream weekend you got a keeper in this young man.
I was thrilled to see Steve Ford and his wife have so much fun on their first visit to Madera Speedway.
I’m so sick of hearing about how just because we have four-cylinder cars are nothing but back gate cash. Kenny and Tammy Shephard stood behind us and provided a fair purse for us the no other track in the aera would ever consider.
As great a race as we put on will be shadowed by the fact we only
